Cub-o-ree — What a great time!!

What a great weekend with the scouts and parents of Pack 183 at the Seminole District “Creepy Crawlies” Cub-o-ree.  In addition to the games, gateway building, and fun every scout got to participate in at least one special activity:

–  2 great skits in front of over 400 people

– Iron Chef (yummy lizard skins….or..ummm chicken)

–  Tug-of-war

The scouts of Pack 183 won the Tug-of-war competition by going 6-0 and taking home the FIRST PLACE TROPHY.  Of course this means Pack 183 must return to the 2014 Cub-o-ree to return the trophy and also try and win it back again.  Everyone showed exceptional scout spirit all weekend and got into the mood with some improvised water pail drumming.

GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!!!

Scoutmaster’s Camporee

With the 2013 Scoutmaster’s Camporee in the books a big THANK YOU goes out to all of the parents in Pack 183 who did a fantastic job at making this campout a huge success.  This campout had its challenges with weather all weekend but everyone came together for one of the best Scoutmasters showings we’ve had.  Pack 183 ran 2 games and 1 shooting sports ranges over the weekend.  We had by far the biggest showing of volunteers and the events ran because of their efforts.  Every scout out there had a smile on his face and was moving the entire weekend.

In addition to the fun and games Pack 183 came away with 4 awards ribbons for the weekend:

–  First place – Campsite Inspection – Area 6

–  Second place – Trevi Fountain competition

–  Second place – Gateway Competition – Area 6

This is a fun campout right in our own backyard.

For this campout we are trying something new for the signup.  To sign up:

1.  Go to Scoutmasters Camporee sign up link
2.  Find your den in the spreadsheet (den names are at the bottom)
3.  Enter the information in the row with your scout’s name
4.  If you have more then one scout in the pack you only need to enter the information for one of them.  Please mark “2” for scouts in this case.

Signup Deadline:  January 30, 2013
Fee:  $20 (Scout / adult / leader / sibling 5 or older)
Payment Due:  No later then February 8
Camping at Markham Park

The fee for this campout is the fee being charged by Council for the Scoutmaster’s camporee.  This is a little higher then our previous campouts but we are only charging the entrance fee to the campout.

Important:  We need to register all of the attending scouts by January 30 so it is important that we have an accurate count in the signup spreadsheet.

If there are any questions please let me or your den leader know.

Thank you,

Jeff
