Scoutmasters Camporee Feb 12-14

Hello Pack 183,

February 12th – 14th 2016 sees our February campout at the South Florida Council organized 2016 Scoutmasters Camporee.

This is the councils flagship event and see upwards of 2,500 scouts from all over South Florida attend for which is a great weekend of activities.

Key events include, separate cub scouts events on Saturday, moving to Boy Scout area in the afternoon, obstacle courses, climbing walls, competitions, police, FD, SWAT team trucks, scouting history, a great chili cook off, and loads more events for all ages. Saturday evening concludes in a great Arena show with more awards, music, shows, skits and the best fireworks display this side of July 4th.

Please register on the link in your email  if you wish to attend, we are checking when the cut off date is as there is a $5.00 increase for late registrations so please sign up via the link as soon as you can.

Coast Guard visit

Pack 183,

Reminder – we have a great opportunity to visit the Coast Guard base, Miami Beach, courtesy of the fantastic Captain Gould (Bear den leader).

Please register on the Google doc in your email and review meeting details.  The event is free but we need to have an accurate roster for the Coast Guard. Please wear Class A uniforms.

The itinerary is as follows:

11am -1pm, Tour of the Coast Guard and learn about all the cool things they do to keep us safe.
1pm, Lunch on the grill, we are keeping it simple, burgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks, please let us know of any food allergies or dietary requirements.
1pm – 3pm is free time, you can hang around and relax on base or head back home if you need to.

January Pack Meeting

Hello Pack 183,

A friendly reminder that this Friday is our first pack meeting of 2016, we will meet as usual in the cafeteria of Manatee Bay, 630pm SHARP, Friday January 15th. The theme is A Scout is Trustworthy.

We will have award recognitions, an activity to make the 2016 pack flag, a race activity and the ever popular quietest time of the meeting (the raffle).

We also have a few new families joining us too, so please welcome them, make them feel at home and answer any questions they may have.

Finally please keep an eye out over the next few days for several emails that please need your input/registration:
Coast Guard Miami visit, please register (free but we need to know numbers) for the visit on Jan 31st
Blue and Gold – please register for the event on Feb 5th
Scoutmaster Camporee, please register for camping on Feb 12,13,14th.

Celebrate Scouting’s Birthday this year at our Annual Blue and Gold Banquet Dinner on February 5th, 2016
A larger than life pack meeting where we celebrate not only the Birthday of Scouting but also the crossover of our Webelo II’s into their Boy Scout Troop.
