Our scouts had the entire museum to themselves and they took full advantage of it!
We had pizza dinner as soon as we arrived, followed by a science class where the kids built a roller coaster.
The kids went through the night exploring the museum, until they had no more energy to do so.
Our pack successfully organized, once again, the Pine Island District Fishing Derby. Everyone got a free fishing rod with a tackle box and bait and went on to learn fishing knots with our volunteers, before heading to the lake for some great professional fishing!
The event was only possible thanks to our dozen of volunteers, who helped with registration, preparing the rods, preparing baits, teaching knots, measuring fish, cleaning up and handing out prizes. It was a great team effort, thank you all!
Our yearly pack Rocket Derby event occurred on September 8th at Country Estates Fishing Hole Park. We had great attendance with many new scouts joining in for the fun day.
The kids learned how to build their rockets then went to compete for prizes.
During our last event of the season we had the kids build a boat and paint it to compete in the second annual raingutter regatta at Country Estates Park. The scouts and their siblings had a blast.
This was one of the favorite campouts of the year, packed with activities and good times. The kids got to interact with other cub scout packs, go canoeing, play gaga ball, shoot BB guns, bow and arrow, cook delicious cake, among other events. We ended up winning a second Cub Scouts trophy which we will carry for the whole year until we get the chance to defend it next year.
On March 10th, 2018 the kids had an overnight adventure at Kennedy Space Center. They camped under the Atlantis Space Shuttle and had a very informative and fun journey with NASA personnel.
Despite all the damage due to Hurricane Irma, the scouts enjoyed beautiful sunny days in the Florida Keys with lots of activities and warm Caribbean waters. This is one of the most iconic parks owned by Boy Scouts of America, which we get to enjoy every year.
We camped overnight at the Daytona International Speedway, it was cold but a lot of fun. The kids got to sit inside the race cars before the race and learn a lot of cars and enjoy a live race in one of the most important race tracks in the world.

Pack 183 will see the Florida Panthers vs Detroit Red Wings hockey game on Saturday, October 28th at 7pm at the BB&T Center in Sunrise. Looking forward to the game.
Scouts can participate in a post game slap shot on the ice.
