Museum of Discovery and Science – Oct/2019

The “kid’s night at the museum” turned into a recurring pack event. It’s an opportunity for scouts and parents to spend the night with the pack without going “full camping” yet, we all sleep in sleeping bags anywhere in the museum.
This year’s theme was “Crazy Chemistry”, the scouts learned how to do some really fun chemistry!

Cross-over Meeting (May 10th)

Our last pack meeting of the season was at Camp Elmore. All kids got a chance to cross the bridge and get their new Scout Rank.

Our Cub Master dressed up as a Native American Chief and performed a ceremony with all the new Bobcats. We closed it out with burgers and hot-dogs.

Cuboree @ Camp Elmore (April 12-14)

The Pine Island Medieval Cuboree didn’t disappoint this year again. Not a lot of packs came along but it was still a lot of fun and well organized event. The kids didn’t stop from 7:30 am until 9:00 pm with a full day of activities.

Our gateway ended up winning first place!

At night we built a fire where the scouts did a skit , told funny and scary stories, and ate s’mores before going back to their tents.

Tanah Keeta (March 15-17)

Tanah Keeta is a BSA campsite managed (very well managed) by the Gulf Stream Council. It was the first time our pack camped out there and we want to make it an annual destination, it was a lot of fun.

We visited the Brightline facilities and the kids learned a lot about safety and how trains are run. They all got to honk the loud train horn and received cool souvenirs at the end.

The campsite had so many options of activities and fun things to do, we canoed one afternoon and everyone loved it.

Can’t wait to go there again!

Scoutmasters Camporee (February 15-17)

The 2019 Scoutmasters was a very well organized event. Than k you South Florida Council!

We camped right next to the playground, which made it easy for the Lions and Tigers parents. Although, all kids enjoyed it.
At least 6 kids gained their Bobcat badge during the month of February, so we had a special ceremony with the kids and parents to grant them the badge with style.
Needless to say that the scouts were exhausted by the end of the day! We had so many activities and they had so much fun before collapsing!

Daytona Speedway (January 4-6, 2019)

Despite the rain and wind on Friday, the weekend turned out to be amazing!

The kids got to take picture with the drivers, sit in very fast cars, watch an awesome race from their tents, sign the race track, tell stories by the fire, learn about wind tunnels and aerodynamics.

All and all, this is a pack camping favorite.

Camp Sawyer (December 7-9, 2018)

Camp Sawyer is a beautiful place! Located in the Florida Keys, this BSA property has an amazing sunrise and nature all around us.

We woke up early and took the kids to Coral Reef Park, where they helped cleaning up the beach and learned the importance of nature preservation and how everything needs to be balanced for that beautiful place to exist.

We also visited the old Henry Flagler railroad and were gifted with the presence of sharks. The kids loved it!

Highlands Hammock (November 16-18, 2018)

Located 4 miles west of Sebring, Highlands Hammock is a 9,000 acre Florida State Park, very well maintained and filled with nature. We have been going there every year and it’s one the kid’s favorite destinations.

We went on multiple hikes and saw some beautiful birds, trees and insects. We also saw some scary animals. Like this cottonmouth snake …

and this gator …

We had the entire camp site for ourselves where the kids were free to play around and explore.

We had a flag retirement ceremony at night and, as usual, our closing ceremony.
