Beach Cleanup

Pack 183 – Sunday June 14th we will be doing a beach cleanup service project. We will meet at 9:30 and work on the beach until around 10:30-11. The entire pack is invited to help clean up the area around Dania Beach Pier. We will be spending the 1.5 hours cleaning up the beach and preserving an important turtle nesting area.

We will have garbage bags, please bring gloves for yourselves and cubs/siblings. Please also make sure to add sunscreen and hydrate before we get started.

See you there! David Khan – Webelos I Leader

Food Pantry Volunteers

Hello Pack 183!

The food pantry we donated to in December, Bread of Life Food Pantry in Pembroke Pines http://www.aplaceintime.org/bread-of-life-food-pantry/ , has invited 10 of our scouts and a parent each to assist in their monthly food distribution on Saturday, February 28.

The food distribution is from 8am – 12pm.  You need not stay the entire time.  Scouts can help fill boxes of food 8am-9am; give out donuts to the guests as they arrive, sweep and help clean up afterward.  Webelos could help carry boxes of food to people’s cars with assistance.

There’s a short worship service at 10:00 for 20 – 25 minutes. It’s usually 2 songs and then a message of hope. Everyone is welcome to sit in, or they can remain at the front if they prefer not to take part. After the worship service, people ‘shop’ for clothing items if needed and food boxes are carried out to the cars.

If you are interested in attending with your scout, please contact me at pack183chair@gmail.com.

Thank you – Julie Romaniw, Pack 183 Committee Chair

First service project of 2014 coming….. 1/4/2014

On Saturday January 4, 2014 we will be participating in the Pine Island District day of service at Camp Elmore.  The nursery is in need of some TLC to get ready for the upcoming growing season.  We will also be removing some of the non-native plants from the landscape before they overtake the wanted plants.

Please come out to Camp Elmore starting at 9am on Saturday 1/4/2014 to help in this great service project.  This will count as one of the 4 required service projects for Pack 183 throughout the year and we need as much help as we can get at the camp.
